The General Establishment for Road Transport, in cooperation with Al Mohannadi Roads and Contracting Company of Qatar, completed surveying works for the Al-Tanf–Al-Basiri road and the Al-Saba Biyar link, covering approximately 215 kilometers.
The surveying work was completed in just seven hours using 3D mobile mapping technology, helping accelerate technical assessment and preparation for upcoming development works.
The project includes road maintenance, rehabilitation of damaged sections, and renewal of the asphalt layer, in addition to constructing a second parallel carriageway to convert the route into a dual road.
The development is expected to improve transport efficiency, enhance road safety, and support smoother movement of vehicles and freight trucks along the route.
The project also highlights the importance of road infrastructure in supporting supply chains, cargo movement, and land transportation between border crossings and commercial centers.
